“It’s Not Just Soup”

Ck’s is the initials of Chris Kastner, Chef and partner with his wife of 24 years Rebecca. They have been in the restaurant business for 34 years. CK started as a dish washer at the Sun Valley Inn in 1976 and has been working in kitchens ever since. After working mostly in the Ketchum area at the late great Evergreen, and Chez Russell, Chris and Rebecca decided to do their own thing and in 2003 opened Ck’s in Hailey. Ck’s was designed and built with the help of many friends and .builders. An independently owned and operated dinner house open all year seven nights 5 to 10 pm. CK’s recently opened for lunch Mon. through Fri. from 11am to 2pm. Focusing on affordable quality lunches from vegetarian rice bowls to great sandwiches. We emphasize the use of as much local organic produce in season as possible. Multiple Idaho gardeners currently supply us during our short growing season. Regional northwest cuisine is what we do. Lava Lake Lamb is a local sheep ranch that supplies the bulk of the lamb we use for many of our dishes. Regional chickens and some of our beef come to us through Idaho’s Bounty, a local small producer on line market. Using local and regional foods, and drawing inspiration from different cuisines around the world, we create tasty and healthy dishes to complement our extensive wine list. Our menu changes a little bit all the time depending on the season but some items do not change because of their popularity.
